WHAT WE DO
We Deliver Food to the Homes of Local Families
Our volunteers deliver a weekly NOSH Bag to the homes of people living in Glen Cove, Sea Cliff, Glen Head, Locust Valley, and Bayville. NOSH Bags contain the ingredients to make two complete meals for a family of four plus we are often able to add much appreciated extras like cereal and eggs. Larger families receive more than one NOSH Bag. There is never a charge for our services.
The NOSH Food Pantry
The NOSH Food Pantry, located behind 32 School Street in Glen Cove, is open every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9am to 1pm. We are also open two Saturdays a month from 10am till 3pm. Our Food Pantry is a “client choice pantry” and each guest is paired with a volunteer shopper who escorts them through the pantry helping them find the items they need.
With the end of the covid era government support payments to low-income families, while prices continue to climb, the need we are seeing in our community is escalating. Now there are lines of people coming to pick up food whenever the pantry is open. This summer we added two Saturdays a month to our usual weekday schedule to help address this growing need. Here too, there is never a charge for our services.
